Water Quality Test - Typical Sampling and Lab Fees

To avoid any conflict of interest we charge a flat fee of $75.00, plus whatever lab fees apply for whatever water tests you select. By this method you can be assured that any water test selection advice you hear is motivated only by your interest and not by possible profit on various lab fees.

We mention this because a few water test companies aggressively market "selling water tests" to home inspectors as a way to increase their bottom line. We avoid any conflicts of interest with this fee structure.

Here are some typical water test lab fees for the minimum test (bacteria presence/absence) and more comprehensive tests which look for groups of common water contaminants:

Bacteriological sampling: (Total Coliform and E-Coli):   $25.

Water Analysis Comprehensive Scan - Powerful testing for surface water and deep well sources. Testing for 61 volatile organic compounds (including MTBE) as well as the common causes of unhealthy and low quality water. This is the best test for determining general water quality. Test includes: total coliform bacteria, lead, nitrate, radon, calcium, copper, iron, magnesium, manganese, potassium, sodium, chloride, chlorine, color, hardness, ph, total dissolved solids, sulfate, ammonia plus: fecal/e. coli, alkalinity, odor, conductivity, sediment, turbidity, arsenic and 61 volatile organic compounds.   $225
